Food for Fines

Due to the large number of outstanding fines and missing library books and movies, Fillmore City has had to amend our library policy as follows: "Patrons with outstanding fines and penalties over $10 will lose all library privileges including, but not limited to, using computers and checking out library materials. When all fines and penalties are paid and late materials returned, library privileges will be restored."

To help patrons with this problem, we are happy to once again announce our Food for Fines. Patrons are able to bring an item of food for each $1.00 in fines. EXPIRED FOOD WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. This is for fines only. Lost books and movies still need to be paid for or replaced. Food for Fines will run from November 1 to December 31, 2011.

All food will be donated to the local food bank. And even if patrons don't have fines, the library will gladly accept donated items for the food bank. Thank you for your participation!

• dented cans
• rusted cans
• damaged items
• open packages
• packages with expired dates
• homemade food
